VARIOVAC is a steadfast advocate for Ukrainian refugees. The moment we heard about the Russian attack on Ukraine, we acted immediately and started relief efforts for our friends.

In close cooperation with with the city Zarrentin and the district Ludwigslust-Parchim, we were able to bring 24 families (over 90 people) to Zarrentin and its surrounding area. We were able to provide housing as well as supply them with food and the basic necessities. So far, we have rented, partly renovated, and fully furnished 24 apartments. This was possible thanks to generous material donations, but mostly using our own capital. We also pay the rent for these apartments. A team of eight employees, who have been released from their daily duties at VARIOVAC, are working instead on finishing the apartments. 

We support each refugee as they register with the city, register for school, search for jobs, furnish their apartment, engage in leisure activities, etc. For the coordination, we were able to recruit two Ukrainian colleagues, who speak German fluently, to coordinate the relief effort full-time.

Additionally, VARIOVAC is in the process of establishing a foundation dedicated to the relief efforts for the Ukrainian families. We will be adding a fixed percentage of our company profit to the donations. In the long run, this will flow directly into the foundation, allowing for even more comprehensive assistance.
